My Thoughts on "Innisfree Long Wear BB Cushion"

Hi all!

First of all, I would like to inform all of you readers that I do not have any pictures because I didn't have a time to snap pictures of it and I have already used it up a while ago but I hope this review is somewhat useful for some of you out there. ^^V .

As all of you may know that BB Cushion has been in trend for a while now and it's still famous for it's travel-friendly packaging and all the amazing values in one.

When I was first introduced to BB Cushions, I wasn't sure if the shades would match my skin tone because I have a medium skin tone and Korea foundations or BB creams they only cater to fair skin tones.

After a long consideration, I decided to get something more affordable which is Innisfree Long Wear BB Cushion <#23>. At first, I was not used to the "brightening" effect on my skin, it looks really light and bright but after a while it oxidises so it wasn't as bad as I thought and I liked it very much considering it was more affordable than other brands such as Laneige, IOPE, Sulhwasoo and more.

HOWEVER, after using it for a while, I realised that it is not suitable for my skin type at all. It was super drying and patching around my nose and the sides of my mouth. I was quite disappointed with it and thought how am I suppose to work with it so that I won't put it to waste.

How to encounter dry patches on skin?
In order to not put it to waste, before applying the BB Cushion, I would apply a generous amount of moisturiser on my face and then after applying the BB Cushion, I would spray a few spritz of face mists on my sponge(puff) and then gently press it on the dry areas a few times (for the moisture to soak into your skin).

Long Wearing : Yes
If you have dry skin, I do not recommend to set your make up with powder.

Scent: It has a strong scent to it, some may like it some may not but I personally like the scent :)

So far this is the only affordable BB Cushion I have tried and I'm thinking of trying the Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion. If you have tried Etude's BB Cushion, please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts and if I should give it a go or not :)

First Impression : SKINFOOD Argan Oil Silk Hair Mask Pack & Extra Virgin Olive Oil Essence

여러분 !  안녕하세요 ! (hello everyone!)

Today I have a quick review on a Korea Hair Care product. . .

It is SKINFOOD 's Argan Oil Silk Hair Mask Pack & Extra Virgin Olive Oil Essence  :)

I got these products from Korea with a help of a friend.
Products in Korea are actually cheaper than Malaysia. Like waaaaaaay, cheaper.

Argan Oil Silk Hair Mask Pack : 9000won (approx : RM27 - RM30)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil Essence : 5500won (approx : RM18 - RM 20)

My hair is not very dry or frizzy but I use hair tools pretty often so I figured I need something to at least maintain its moisture and health.

I've been hearing lots of great things about Argan Oil in general and so I decided to try. . .

 Skinfood's Argan Oil Hair Mask.

The products claims to be a hair mask pack that contains nourishing argan oil and silk to transform dry, damaged hair into healthy, shiny tresses.

How to use : After shampooing, remove excess water and apply to damp hair, Leave on for 5 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

Thoughts : I've only used this product once and I'm already in love with it. My hair is silky smooth than before and it does not tangle as much as well!

Extra Virgin Olive Oil Essence

The product claims that it is a hair treatment serum that contains refined extra virgin olive oil. Calms unruly curls and frizzy hair while adding shine.

How to use : Shampoo hair and towel dry. Pump a small amount onto your palms, rubs your hands together and apply to hair where needed.

Thoughts : My ends are the driest part of my hair but not very frizzy so Extra Virgin Olive Oil Essence is enough for those who only have slightly drier hair but want to maintain it's moisture.

Try also : Argan Oil Silk Hair Essence (for very dry & frizzy hair)

First Impression : SilkyGirl's Moisture Boost Lipcolor Balm!

Hello hello! It's been a few months since I've updated my blog and so today I decided to write up a quick review on the SilkyGirl's Moisture Boost Lipcolor Balm.

I was at Guardian today and I came across the Lipcolor Balm by Silkygirl.
To be honest, I've NEVER had my eyes on Silkygirl's product for years but today, it got me!

The reason why it caught my attention is, the packaging is so much similar than the Revlon ones.
I have a Revlon Lip Lacquer my own and I really like it because of the tingly feeling on the lips and I love mint! When I saw this today, I thought it was just a copied version and wasn't really expecting for its quality based on the price. But I just had to try it out. I started testing out with the tester they had on the the rack and they were pretty new and not used up so I assumed this product has only been around not very long.

My mom and I each got a different color, "Rose" & "Wine".
& we both love it! *daddy approved!

For now, they only have 6 colours ranging from light to dark.

Wine No.06

Twist instead of sharpening!

Price & Amount?

The amount has about the same as the Revlon Lip Lacquer and its cheaper (that's a plus) .
I got mine for RM18.90 (SUPER AFFORDABLE) and based on the price, I'm actually pretty amazed by its quality.

Product Quality?

The product name says it all!
Really moisturizing!

Swatch ! :)

Selfie Selfie!

Any CONS to it?

The only downside for this product is that you'll have to re-apply often but to me, it isn't really a problem because I prefer non stain lip products as I always always remove any lip products before I eat.
But for some who prefers those that stains, this would be the only cons for this product.

Would I repurchase?

I would definitely repurchase this product again instead of the Revlon ones and I hope they'll come out with more colours in future!

First Impression Review : Oscar Blandi Volumizing Dry Shampoo

*before I start, I would like to remind that these are based on my personal preference / opinion*

Hello all!

So today, I decided to drop by Sephora and use up my 10% discount.
I've been hearing about dry shampoos for quite some time and decided to give it a try.

I asked for recommendation and the consultant recommended me their best selling Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo and so, I tried it on my hair using their tester and it felt okay and smelt refreshing so, Miss Impulse Purchase decided to get it and write up a first impression about this product.

The product claims that it absorbs excess oil and product build-up without stripping the hair. The formula sprays clear, making it undetectable in any colour hair, cleanses without water, and instant boosts volume.

So you're suppose to :

1. Shake it well
2. Hold it 6 to 8 inches away from your hair and spray it onto your roots.
3. Allow it to dry, then massage hair the same way as when you shampoo with water.
4. Brush through to distribute.
5. If nozzle clogs, rinse with warm water.

Now now, I admit that I did an impulse purchase on this because my 10% discount was going to expire and I don't wanna waste it but I'm not hating or complaining about this product because it mainly depends on your type of scalp and hair. It may work on some but some may not

Love / Hate?

So as for my case, it didn't really work at all and in fact, it felt even more greasy and sticky, just as if you haven't wash your hair in days. Exactly that kind of feeling, which is a no-go at all.

The thing that I like about this product is it's lemon-ey scent that makes your hair smell refreshing and it doesn't leave any white marks/patches on your hair as it sprays clear.

As for volumizing wise, hmm.... well it did lift my hair a little but it didn't hold up as long as I thought it would because the greasiness weighed my hair down and it's doesn't look "sexy" at all.

So I've took a picture of my hair after spraying some of the product onto my hair and for those who are eating right now, excuse moi. >.<

There you go. . .

One thing about Sephora in Asia is that we don't get a refund or exchange once you've used your product unlike western countries, you get to exchange/return your product if you didn't like it.
*but you're allowed to exchange/refund the product if you have not use it within 14 days (if i'm not mistaken)*

If you live in Asia country, I really suggest that you think carefully before buying it. If you're gonna use up their whole tester, go ahead ha-ha.. but make sure you don't regret after purchasing it.
*NOT CHEAP! :/ *

I've learned my lesson. *big sigh*

Would I purchase it again?
Uhm, definitely a no-go for me. But I might use it once a while, spraying it lightly to make my hair smell good   HAHA, but definitely not onto my roots.

I hope this review helped some of you guys out there in deciding.
Feel free to comment down below if you feel that this review was helpful! &....

K.Drama Talks! ( K.드라마 )

Hello!

Recently, I've just finished watching the latest Korean drama called "Emergency Couple" "응급남녀" starring Song Ji-Hyo, Choi Jin-Hyuk, Lee Pil-Mo, Choi Yeo-Jin & Clara.

I think this is one of the best drama I've watched so far other than "Gu Family Book", "Gentlemen's Dignity, "Boys Over Flowers", "Rooftop Prince", "Dream High 1" and more.

Speaking of best dramas, how can I missed out "You who came from the Stars"?
Hello? Best of the best drama ever! I'm telling you, you gotta watch it!

These kind of dramas make you go WOW and you'll get the chills all over your body (in a good way).
I highly HIGHLY recommend this if you haven't yet.
Jeon Ji-Hyun have made the right choice of taking up this drama offer (all credits to Kim Soo-Hyun) HAHA.

ALSO, it's just amazing how dramas can benefit other businesses in many ways.
YSL Lipstick - Rosy Coral

Do Min Joon's storybook

The lipstick Jeon Ji-Hyun used in the drama, was SOLD OUT in just a blink of an eye (not exaggerating at all) & the unknown author became FAMOUS over the night. . .

Other than that, I know "The Heirs" has been really popular ever since they started airing their first episode or should I say even WAAAAAY before they aired their first episode. It was crazyyy! But it's only popular mainly because of the casts (idols and popular young actor/actresses), their storyline is just a typical Korean highschool/teenage love story. Every scene can be expected or predicted. They don't make you go WOW.

When I watch drama, I normally look for beautiful story-lines. Of course, the actor/actresses matters but no one would judge a GOOD drama because of the actor/actresses. If a not-so-famous actor/actresses can make a drama popular, then that's a successful one.

So here are a list of dramas recommended to you if you don't know what's IN and you wanna kill time (if you have too much time) :

1. Gu Family Book
2. Gentlemen's Dignity
3. Dream High 1
4. Golden Rainbow (family drama)
5. You who came from the Stars
6. Hotel King (latest - still airing)

.......... more to come!

Comparison : 3CE Lip Lacquer VS NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

Hi all!

Recently, I finally got my hands on Stylenanda's 3 Concept Eyes Lip Lacquer!
I've been waiting so long for this! I can finally compare it with NYX's Soft Matte Lip Cream.

A friend of mine helped me purchased the 3CE Lip Lacquer from Hong-dae, Korea. (approx. RM62)
It's definitely cheaper to get it from Korea.
I've seen locals selling them the lowest at RM70, highest RM95.

& I bought NYX's Soft Matte Lip Cream for RM26 @ Sephora.
Probably one of the cheapest makeup brand around the store (with quality)!
Worth to try! :)

Okay before I start, I'm not a professional makeup artist so these are just my honest opinion of the products (coming from just a makeup lover).

Let's begin with swatches!

3CE Lip Lacquer (SHOW TIME) // NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (ADDIS ABABA)
WITHOUT flash.
3CE Lip Lacquer (SHOW TIME) // NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (ADDIS ABABA)
WITH flash.

Shades may be different but we're comparing the quality.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Packaging

Both packaging are simple and clean.

BUT I love 3CE Lip Lacquer's packaging more (of course, I paid for such high price for it)! The bottle is sleek and simple with a matte cap. Well of course, it is consider as a high-end make up product, that's why the packaging looks more appealing than NYX's Soft Matte Lip Cream.

A better way to describe them :
3CE looks more elegant, NYX looks more casual.

Texture

Both lip product has a matte finish. I would't say both are moisturizing or one is more moisturizing than the other. I still find it a little dry so I would recommend applying a layer of lip balm before you apply any lip colour and then lastly top it off with a little amount of lip gloss at the center of your lips to keep it moisturized and soft all day long! :)

Pigmentation
Lip Lacquer's more pigmented than Soft Matte Lip Cream.

If you're looking for a bold and super pigmented lip product, then the Lip Lacquer is the one for you.

BUT if you're like me, not such a fan of bold and pigmented lip product then NYX's Soft Matte Lip Cream is perfect for you. (:

ALSO, it depends on how much you apply them on your lips.
A little goes a long way. (:

Does it Stain?
3CE Lip Lacquer LEFT , NYX Lip Cream RIGHT

For those who prefer lip products that stains your lips so that you don't have to reapply every few hours or maybe after meal, you may want to consider getting the Lip Lacquer. It may be pricey but the quality is there.

As you can see, after an hour, I wiped both lip product off my hands and you can see the Lip Lacquer stains more than the Soft Matte Lip Cream.

Some people believe that lip products that stains our lips are harmful to us but some doesn't so at the end, it's still based on your personal preference.

Which do you prefer? Stain or not?

Scent

3CE's Lip Lacquer has NO scent at all whereas NYX's Soft Matte Lip Cream has a sweet vanilla scent to it but the scent isn't overpowering at all, it's quite smooth and sweet to smell.
Definitely doesn't irritate your nose (better than those lipstick that has a weird old smell) .

Brush Applicator

The 3CE Lip Lacquer has a pointy/sharper tip,

while the NYX's Soft Matte Lip Cream has a round tip but both applies smoothly on your lips.

I like both but I prefer pointier brush applicator because it gives a cleaner edge on the lips.
(Y'know what I mean?)

What about you? (:

I hope this comparison/review helps you a little if you're deciding to get either one of them!

Thank you for reading my blog! Bye!

xoxo, Amelia

Introduction + Mani Monday (MODI nail polish)

Hi all!

This is my very first blog post in many years. I used to blog years ago but those post were..... don't wanna mention in detail but I can tell you, I've written the most immature stuffs you can ever imagine (rants and rants and rants... )

But in this brand new year, I would like to start of something new, which is sharing my thoughts or ideas through blogging. I may not be the BEST or the MOST creative person out there but I still hope the slightest or tiniest things from here may somehow inspire you. Also, if you have any ideas or opinions, you may share at the comment section below. (:

Okay, the end of my so called Introduction, allow me to officially start my first blog post of the year!

So today's segment is Manicure Monday! Okay okay, I know what you're thinking ( yerr.... copy ppl ). Yeah.. I copied the idea of the segment but hey, I'm not the only one. ^.^ Heh.

I actually did my nails last Tuesday and was gonna post it on that day but it wasn't a MONDAY...
Because normally people do their nails on the day itself or 2 days before and then they take pictures of their nails then post it on Monday and then yada yada yada...
But I did mine on Tuesday (  phail whale [._.         }   )

Anyways... let's get to it!
Here's what I did to my nails last Tuesday.

I got the nail polishes from when I was in Korea. The brand of it its called MODI. I don't think they have it in Malaysia but you can always get pastel nail polishes like EVERYWHERE.   (:

MODI (pastel sequence)
MODI Mint Candy

Anyways, they had this really cute set (duo set polish) in a box for you to be creative and be able to do your nails like a pro (HOHOHO...) at home.
This mint candy polish actually came with a pastel orange (halloween concept) & also with nail art stickers but it's not Halloween yet, so I paired the mint candy polish with the pastel sequence (reminded me of easter eggs)

But it's pretty cute in my opinion. Yes? No?
Kids can rock this nail design easily and most importantly, super easy to recreate.

BUT I DON'T HAVE THE PASTEL SEQUENCE POLISH? O.O

NO. WORRIES.

IF, you don't have the pastel-sequence-looking type of polish, you can always use a dotting tool or a toothpick or the ends of your bobby pin, dipped into any pastel polishes and just create dots on your nails!

bobby pin, toothpicks, dotting tools

I hope this post is somewhat interesting & helpful!
Read my blog....... maybe next Monday? again? :)

Signing off ! Bye!

xoxo, Amelia
